Quick install guide

Follow these safe steps to install Ledger Live and pair your Ledger device.

  1. Visit the official download page and choose Desktop or Mobile.
  2. Download the installer and verify the checksum (see Verify section).
  3. Open the installer and follow on-screen instructions.
  4. Launch Ledger Live, connect your Ledger device via USB/Bluetooth, and follow the initialization flow.

4. In Manager, install the blockchain apps you need
5. Add accounts and verify addresses on-device

How to verify downloads

Verifying ensures installers weren't tampered with. Use SHA256 checks and compare to official values published on the download page.

macOS / Linux: use shasum -a 256 file to compute checksum.
Windows: use certutil -hashfile file SHA256.

Download safety tips

  • Always navigate directly to ledger.com/start — avoid links in random messages or social posts.
  • Do not download APKs from unknown sites; use official app stores for mobile.
  • Keep your recovery phrase offline and never enter it into any app or website.

After installation — common flows

Install apps: Open Manager and install blockchain apps (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.).
Add accounts: Add accounts for each blockchain in Ledger Live and verify addresses on your device before sharing.
Send & receive: Use the Receive flow to show an address in Ledger Live and confirm it on your device. For Send, verify amounts and destinations on-device before approving.
